Avec « Pox Calypso », Salopecia illustre sa résistance obstinée contre les nombreuses tendances pernicieuses de notre époque aberrante.
« Pox Calypso » fait référence à cette danse macabre mêlant isolement, méfiance et ennui à laquelle nous avons été confronté pendant les vagues de confinements suite à l’apparition de la Covid-19. A chaque chanson de l’album, son propre univers, son propre protagoniste et sa propre voix. Salopecia conjuguent les influences qui pogotent en lui : hip-hop, grunge et électro s'entremêlent de mille façons dans chacun des titres, mais toujours avec la marque salopecienne ponctuant de grincements, grognements, gargouillis et glottis des grooves hypnotiques que ce batteur de formation manipule avec brio.

Pour accompagner l’ambiance apocalyptique de « Pox Calypso », Léon Maret, prolifique auteur de bande dessinée et illustrateur, convoque un imaginaire eschatologique où le grotesque du trait répond à l’absurde du monde que Robin entaille de ses textes. Ainsi par exemple des poissons voraces qu'on y aperçoit en référence à « A Lotta Piranhas », chanson où l’industrie culturelle est personnifiée par des Piranhas assoiffés de sang.
